PENERAPAN PENDEKATAN INKUIRI UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEAKTIFAN DAN HASIL BELAJAR IPS SISWA KELAS IV SEKOLAH DASAR NEGERI 1 UBUD TAHUN AJARAN 2012/2013

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk 1) meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 1 Ubud tahun ajaran 2012/2013 dan 2) meningkatkan hasil belajar IPS melalui penerapan pendekatan inkuiri pada siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 1 Ubud tahun ajaran 2012/2013. Desain penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri atas dua siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 1 Ubud yang berjumlah 40 yang terdiri dari 23 siswa laki-laki dan 17 siswa perempuan. Data tentang keaktifan belajar dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan lembar observasi dan hasil belajar dikumpulkan menggunakan tes. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan keaktifan dan hasil belajar IPS pada siswa kelas IVC SD N 1 Ubud dari pra siklus ke siklus I dan ke siklus II setelah diterapkannya pendekatan inkuiri. Pada pra siklus diperoleh persentase keaktifan belajar siswa sebesar 63,6% dikategorikan rendah. Pada pelaksanaan siklus I diperoleh persentase keaktifan belajar siswa sebesar 74,3% dikategorikan sedang. Selanjutnya pada siklus II diperoleh persentase keaktifan belajar siswa sebesar 84,8% dikategorikan tinggi. Berkaitan dengan hasil belajar IPS siswa, pada pra siklus diperoleh persentase hasil belajar IPS siswa sebesar 63,8% dikategorikan rendah dengan ketuntasan klasikal 34,3%. Pada pelaksanaan siklus I diperoleh persentase hasil belajar IPS siswa sebesar 70,4% dikategorikan sedang dengan ketuntasan klasikal 65,0%. Selanjutnya pada siklus II diperoleh persentase hasil belajar IPS siswa sebesar 82,2% dikategorikan tinggi dengan ketuntasan klasikal 87,5%.Berdasarkan temuan penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan inkuiri dapat meningkatkan keaktifan dan hasil belajar IPS siswa kelas IVC SD N 1 Ubud tahun ajaran 2012/2013.

Abstract The aims of this study are 1) to improve the students’ learning activeness for the fourth grade students of SD N 1 Ubud in the academic year 2012/2013 and 2) to improve the learning outcomes of social science through the inquiry approach at the fourth grade students of SD N 1 Ubud in the academic year 2012/2013. The design of this study is Classroom Action Research (CAR) consisted of two cycles. The subjects of this research were the fourth grade students of SD N 1 Ubud for about 40 students consisted of 23 male students and 17 female students. The data were collected by using observation sheet and the learning outcomes were collected by using a test. The data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis method. The result of this research showed that there were improvements of the learning activeness and the learning outcomes of social science at the fourth grade students of SD N 1 Ubud from the pre-cycle to the first cycle and the second cycle after implementing inquiry approach. In the pre-cycle the percentage of student’s learning activities is of 63.6% and it was classified at low. In the first cycle the percentage of student’s learning activities is 74.3% and it was classified at moderate. Next, in the second cycle percentage of student’s learning activities is of 84.8% and it was classified at high. Related to the learning outcomes of social science, in the pre-cycle the percentage is of 63.8% and it was classified at low with the classical exhaustiveness of 34.3%. In the first cycle the percentage is of 70.4% and it was classified at moderate with the classical exhaustiveness of 65.0%. Next, in the second cycle the percentage is of 82.2% and it was classified as high with the classical exhaustiveness of 87.5%. Based on the findings, at could be concluded that the application of the inquiry approach can improve the activities and the learning outcomes of social science at the fourth grade students of SD N 1 Ubud in academic year 2012/2013.
