This study aims to determine the differences in mathematics results between groups of students who taught by Realistic Mathematics Approach ( PMR ) with a group of students who taught with conventional learning models in the first semester of fifth grade students in elementary school in Penglatan village, Buleleng district of Buleleng regency in the academic year 2013/2014. This study was a quasi-experimental study (quasi- experiment) with the design of non-equivalent post -test only on control group design which was involving 57 of elementary students in Penglatan village. The samples were taken by simple random sampling technique. The research instrument used in this research to collect the Mathematics Learning Outcomes data was a multiple choice test. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics which inferential statistics using t-test. The results showed that there is a significant difference between groups of students who taught by Realistic Mathematics Approach (PMR) with a group of students who taught by conventional learning model (tvalue = 4.906 > ttable = 2.000). Thus, Realistic Mathematics Approach (PMR) affect on learning outcomes in mathematics of fifth grade students in SD Negeri 1 Penglatan, Buleleng district of Buleleng regency in the academic year 2013/2014.
