Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran PBL terhadap Keterampilan Proses Sains Siswa Kelas V SD di Gugus IV Diponegoro Kecamatan Mendoyo

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan keterampilan proses sains antara kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) dan kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional pada siswa kelas V SD di gugus IV Diponegoro Kecamatan Mendoyo tahun ajaran 2013/2014. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu (Quasi Eksperimental Research) dan menggunakan desain post-test only control group design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh kelas V SD di Gugus IV Diponegoro Kecamatan Mendoyo pada tahun ajaran 2013/2014. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas V SD Negeri 7 Yehembang dan kelas V SD Negeri 6 Yehembang. Data keterampilan proses sains diperoleh melalui tes keterampilan proses sains. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis statistik deskriptif dan uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa thitung = 7,005 dan ttabel = 2,021 (taraf signifikasi 5%). Hal ini berati thitung > ttabel, sehingga dapat diinterpretasikan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada keterampilan proses sains antara kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) dan kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional. Dari rata-rata hasil post-test keterampilan proses sains, diketahui bahwa kelompok eksperimen berada pada kategori sangat tinggi dengan M = 21,44 dan kelompok kontrol berada pada kategori sedang dengan M = 13,04. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa kelas V SD di gugus IV Diponegoro Kecamatan Mendoyo tahun ajaran 2013/2014.Kata Kunci : Problem Based Learning (PBL), keterampilan proses sains
The purposes of this study was to know the difference between Problem Based Learning (PBL) teaching model and conventional teaching model upon students’ science process skills in fifth grade elementary school students in Gugus IV Diponegoro Kecamatan Mendoyo academic year 2013/2014. This research is a Quasi- Experimental Research and using the design of post-test only control group design . The population of this study was the entire fifth grade elementary school in Gugus IV Diponegoro Kecamatan Mendoyo in the academic year 2013/2014. The sample was the fifth graders of SDN. 7 Yehembang and SDN. 6 Yehembang. The data of science process skills acquired through science process skills test. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis techniques and t-test. The results showed that thitung = 7.005 and ttabel = 2.021 (5% significance level). This means thitung > ttabel, so that it can be interpreted that there is a significant difference in the science process skills among groups of students that learned using Problem Based Learning (PBL) teaching model and a group of students that learned using conventional teaching model. By the average post-test results of science process skills, it is known that the experimental group is at very high category with M = 21.44 and control groups in middle category with M = 13.04. So, it can be concluded that Problem Based Learning (PBL) teaching model influence on science process skills of fifth grade students in the elementary school in Gugus IV Diponegoro Kecamatan Mendoyo of the academic year 2013/2014.
