PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN SSCS TERHADAP PEMAHAMAN KONSEP IPA SISWA KELAS V SD DI GUGUS I KECAMATAN BULELENG

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan pemahaman konsep IPA antara kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran SSCS dan kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran konvensional pada siswa kelas V SD di gugus I Kecamatan Buleleng. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu dengan desain berupa nonequivalent posttest only control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah kelas V SD di gugus I Kecamatan Buleleng yang berjumlah 11 kelas. Penentuan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Pengumpulan data pemahaman konsep IPA siswa menggunakan tes uraian yang dianalisis dengan teknik analisis statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferansial yaitu uji-t. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan uji-t, diperoleh nilai thitung sebesar 11,28 dan ttabel sebesar 2,000, pada taraf signifikansi 5% dan db=59. Hal ini berarti thitung lebih besar daripada ttabel. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan pemahaman konsep IPA yang signifikan antara kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran SSCS dan kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran konvensional. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran SSCS berpengaruh terhadap pemahaman konsep IPA siswa kelas V di SD gugus I Kecamatan Buleleng, Kabupaten Buleleng tahun ajaran 2013/2014.Kata Kunci : Model SSCS, Pemahaman Konsep IPA
The purpose of this research was to know the difference of the concept undertanding in natural science between the group of student who was taught by using SSCS teaching model and the group of student who was taught by using the conventional teaching model in the fifth grade students of elementary school in cluster one of Buleleng district. This was a quasi experimental research with nonequivalent posttest only control group design. The population of this research was fifth grade of elementary school in cluster one of Buleleng district which consisted of 11 classes. The sample was choosen by the use of cluster random sampling technique. The data of concept undertanding in natural science were collected by using essay test which was analyzed by using descriptive statistics analysis and inferential statistics that was t-test. Based on the t-test calculation, the research result showed that tcount value was 11,28 and ttable was 2,000, on significance standard 5% and db=59. That meant that tcount is bigger than that of ttable. The result showed that there was difference of concept undertanding in natural science between group of students who were taught by using SSCS teaching model and group of students who were taught by using conventional teaching model. Thus, can concluded that SSCS teaching model influenced the concept undertanding in natural science of fifth grade students of elementary school in cluster one of Buleleng district, Buleleng regency in academic year 2013/2014.
