PENGARUH STRATEGI TOK TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MENULIS CERPEN SISWA KELAS V SD NEGERI PADANGBAI*

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya perbedaan yang signifikan pada kemampuan menulis cerpen antara kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan Strategi TOK (Tiru Olah Kembangkan) dengan kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan model pembelajaran konvensional di kelas V SD Negeri Padangbai Tahun ajaran 2013/2014. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu dengan rancangan post test only control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas V SD di Negeri Padangbai tahun pelajaran 2013/2014, yang terdiri dari 2 kelas dengan jumlah populasi 74 siswa. Instrumen yang akan digunakan untuk mengukur hasil belajar adalah tes kemampuan menulis cerpen siswa. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial dengan uji-t untuk menguji hipótesis penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada kemampuan menulis cerpen siswa antara kelompok siswa yang dibelajar dengan strategi TOK dan kelompok siswa yang dibelajar dengan model pembelajaran konvensional. Besarnya thitung adalah 4,479 sedangkan ttabel dengan db = 74 dan taraf signifikansi 5% adalah 2,379. Hal ini berarti, thitung lebih besar dari ttabel (4,479>2,379) sehingga H0 ditolak dan H¬1 diterima. Dengan demikian, strategi TOK berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan menulis cerpen siswa yang diperoleh pada siswa kelas V tahun pelajaran 2013/2014 di SD Negeri Padangbai.Kata Kunci : Strategi TOK, Cerpen, Kemampuan Menulis
This research aimed at knowing the significant difference on the students’ short story writing skills between the students who were taught by TOK strategy and the students who were taught by conventional teaching strategy on the fifth grade students of SD Negeri Padangbai in the academic year 2013/2014. This study was a semi-experiment research which post test only control group design. The populations of this study were all of the fifth grade elementary students of SD Negeri Padangbai in the academic years 2013/2014, in which consists of 2 classes which were 74 students. The instrument was the short story writing competency’s test and the data analysis used statistic descriptive and statistic inferential by using t test to examine the hypothesis. The results of this study show that there were significant differences on students’ writing competency between the group who was taught by TOK strategy and the group who was taught by using conventional teaching strategy. The tcount was 4,479 while ttable with db=74 and the 5% significance standard was 2,379. It meant tcount was bigger than ttable (4,479 >2,379) so that H0 was rejected, and H1 was accepted. Therefore, TOK strategy has a significant effect on the fifth grade students’ writing competency at SD Negeri Padangbai in the academic year 2013/2014
