This study aimed at describing the influence of snowball throwing teaching model and learning motivation on students understanding of science concepts. This research is a quasi-experiment.The study population was all students in the fourth grade in elementary cluster Ubud, Gianyar regency academic year 2013/2014 which amounted to 228 students. The sample was 111 students, selected by random sampling technique. The data of students understanding of science concepts collected by the instrument understanding concept test , while the data of students motivation collected through learning motivation questionnaires. Data analysis techniques using descriptive statistical analysis and ANOVA followed two paths with Scheffe's t-test. Based on data analysis, the result are: First, there are differences in understanding science concepts significantly between students who take learning using snowball throwing learning models and conventional (Fvalue = 13.02 >Ftable = 4,08) Second, there is an effect of the interaction between the model of learning and motivation to students understanding science concepts (Fvalue= 86,40 >Ftable = 4,08) Third, there are differences in students understanding science concepts on students who have high motivation that learned using different learning models (t value= 9,12 > t table = 2,000) fourth, there are differences in students understanding science concepts on students who have low motivation that learned using different learning models (t value= 4,12 > t table = 2,000).
