Masalah penelitian ini adalah rendahnya keterampilan menulis siswa. Tujuannya yaitu untuk mengetahui perbedaan keterampilan menulis antara siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik berbasis lingkungan dan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional pada siswa kelas IV di Gugus III Kecamatan Kubu, Kabupaten Karangasem tahun pelajaran 2014/2015. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu. Populasi penelitian ini adalah kelas IV di Gugus III Kecamatan Kubu, Kabupaten Karangasem tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 yang berjumlah 158 orang. Sampel penelitian ini yaitu kelas IVB SDN 4 Tianyar yang berjumlah 24 orang dan kelas IV SDN 1 Tianyar yang berjumlah 20 orang. Data keterampilan menulis siswa dikumpulkan dengan instrumen tes menulis. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial (uji-t). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa thit = 5,54 dan ttab (pada taraf signifikansi 5%) = 2,01. Hal ini berarti bahwa thit > ttab, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan keterampilan menulis antara siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik berbasis lingkungan dan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Dari rata-rata kelompok eksperimen sebesar 19,37 dan rata-rata kelompok kontrol sebesar 13,95. Hal ini berarti rata-rata kelompok eksperimen > rata-rata kelompok kontrol. Dengan demikian pendekatan saintifik berbasis lingkungan berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan menulis siswa kelas IV di Gugus III Kecamatan Kubu, Kabupaten Karangasem tahun pelajaran 2014/2015.Kata Kunci : pendekatan saintifik, lingkungan, keterampilan menulis
The problem of this research is the ability of student in writing still low. The reason is to know the difference of ability of the student that follow the lesson with scientific approach based on environment and the student that follow a conventional study for IV grade student at division III Kubu sub-district, Karangasem district academic year 2014/2015. The type of this research is semi-experiment. The population of this research is the IV grade at division III Kubu sub-district, Karangasem district academic year 2014/2015 that consist of 158 people. Sample of this research is the IVB class of SDN 4 Tianyar that consist of 24 people and IV class of SDN 1 Tianyar that consist of 20 people. Data of ability of student’s writing compiled by writing test instrument. The data that has been compiled analyzed using statistic analysis and inferential statistic (t-test). Result of the research shows that thit = 5,54 and ttab (in signifcation 5%) = 2,01. This is mean that thit > ttab, so it can be concluded that there are a slight difference in writing of the student that follow the lesson with scientific approach based on environment and the student that follow a conventional study. The average of the experiment group reach 19,37 and The average of the control group reach 13,95. This mean the average of experiment group > the average of control group. With that, scientific approach based environment affecting student’s ability of writing the student of IV grade at division III Kubu sub-district, Karangasem district academic year 2014/2015.
