PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS OTAK (BRAIN-BASED LEARNING) TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA INTENSIF SISWA KELAS IV SD

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan membaca intensif antara kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran berbasis otak (brain-based learning) dan kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional pada siswa kelas IV di SD Gugus I Kecamatan Manggis, Kabupaten Karangasem Tahun Pelajaran 2014/2015. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan menggunakan desain non equivalent post test only with control group design. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 31 orang siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 3 Tenganan sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan 30 orang siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 2 Tenganan sebagai kelompok kontrol yang dipilih dengan sistem random sampling. Data dikumpulkan dengan metode tes berbentuk esai. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan statistik infrensial (uji-t). Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan kemampuan membaca intensif antara kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran berbasis otak (brain-based learning) dengan kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan pembelajaran konvensional pada siswa kelas IV di SD Gugus I Kecamatan Manggis, Kabupaten Karangasem Tahun Pelajaran 2014/2015.Kata Kunci : pembelajaran berbasis otak, membaca intensif
The purposes of this research were to know the significant differences between students’ ability in intensive reading who learnt by brain-based learning model and students’ who learnt using conventional learning of class IV in elementary school cluster I Manggis districts, Karangasem regency in academic year 2014/2015. The type of this research was a quasi experiment by using non equivalent post test only with control group design. The sample of this study was grade fourth of SD Negeri 3 Tenganan consisted of 31 students as an experimental group and 30 students grade fourth of SD Negeri 2 Tenganan as a control group selected through random sampling method. Data collected by using essay test. Then, data analysis used was descriptive statistic and inferential statistic (t-test). The result of this research found that there is a significant difference in intensive reading between students’ who learnt by brain-based learning model and students’ who learnt using conventional learning in class IV in elementary school cluster I Manggis districts, Karangasem regency in academic year 2014/2015.
