PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN NATURE OF SCIENCE (NOS) TERHADAP PEMAHAMAN KONSEP IPA SISWA KELAS IV SD DI GUGUS I KECAMATAN SERIRIT TAHUN PELAJARAN 2013/2014

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan pemahaman konsep IPA antara siswa yang belajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Nature of Science (NOS) dan siswa yang belajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional pada siswa kelas IV SD di gugus I Kecamatan Seririt tahun pelajaran 2013/2014. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu dengan menggunakan rancangan penelitian Non Equivalent Post-Test Only Control Group Design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa-siswi kelas IV SD di Gugus 1 Kecamatan Seririt Tahun Pelajaran 2013/2014 yang berjumlah 113 siswa. Sampel diambil dengan cara random sampling sehingga diperoleh sampel yaitu SD N 2 Kalianget dan SD N 3 Kalianget. Data pemahaman konsep IPA dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes pilihan ganda diperluas. Data yang dikumpulkan kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial yaitu uji-t. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh nilai thit > ttabel (5,222 > 2,048). Hal ini menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan pemahaman konsep IPA yang signifikan antara kelompok siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran NOS dengan kelompok siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran NOS berpengaruh positif terhadap pemahaman konsep IPA siswa.Kata Kunci : pembelajaran, pemahaman konsep IPA, Nature of Science
This study aimed to analyze the differences between students' understanding of science concepts were studied by using Nature of Science (NOS) learning model and students who learn by using conventional learning model in the fourth grade students of elementary school in cluster 1 of Seririt district in the academic year 2013/2014. This research is a quasi-experimental research using non-equivalent post-test only control group design. The study population was all students fourth grade in cluster 1 of Seririt district in academic year 2013/2014, amounting to 113 students. Samples were taken by random sampling in order to obtain a sample that SD N 2 Kalianget and SD N 3 Kalianget. The understanding of science concepts data collected by using a expanded multiple-choice test. The data was analyzed busing descriptive and inferential statistics ie t-test. Based on the analysis of data obtained that value of thit > ttabel (5.222> 2.048). This result shows that there are differences in understanding science concepts significantly between group of students who learned using the NOS learning model and the conventional learning model. Thus, the NOS learning model gives positive effect on students' understanding of science concepts
