This research aimed to determine the effect of POGIL model and the interest in learning to the science process skills. This research is classified as quasi experiment with the design of the post-test only control group design. The population of the research were the fifth grade students in Cluster I Elementary School Jembrana District in academic year 2015/2016 totaling 163 people. Sample were students of fifth grade elementary school No 2 Yeh Kuning, elementary school No 2 Air Kuning, elementary school No 2 Sangkaragung, and elementary school No 2 Perancak selected by simple random sampling technique. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Anacova one lane one covariates and the product moment correlation. The results showed that: 1) there are significant differences between student’s science process skills that learned with the POGIL model and student’s that learned with conventional learning (Fcount = 221,631, with sig. = 0,000 < 0,05); 2) there are significant differences between student’s science process skills that learned with POGIL model and student’s that learned with conventional learning after controlling the interest in learning (Fcount = 10,224, with sig. = 0,002 < 0,05); 3) there is a significant contribution of learning interest to the science process skills (r squared = 0,770 > rtable = 0,244, with sig. = 0,000 < 0,05). So, there is the influence of POGIL model’s and the interest in learning to the science process skills.
