PENERAPAN PROBLEM BASED LEARNING DENGAN BRAINSTORMING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH DAN KOMPETENSI PENGETAHUAN IPA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah IPA siswa kelas IVB SDN 2 Dangin Puri tahun melalui penerapan model problem based learning dengan brainstorming; dan (2) meningkatkan kompetensi pengetahuan IPA siswa kelas IVB SDN 2 Dangin Puri melalui penerapan model problem based learning dengan brainstorming. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IVB SDN 2 Dangin puri yang berjumlah 39 siswa yang terdiri dari 24 siswa laki-laki dan 15 siswa perempuan. Data tentang kemampuan pemecahan masalah dikumpulkan menggunakan metode tes jenis uraian dan data kompetensi pengetahuan siswa dikumpulkan menggunakan metode tes jenis pilihan ganda biasa. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis dengan analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: (1) terjadi peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dari nilai rata-rata siswa yaitu sebesar 73,89 dengan ketuntasan belajar mencapai 61,54 pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 82,36 untuk nilai rata-rata dan ketuntasan belajar menjadi 87,18% pada siklus II; dan (2) terjadi peningkatan kompetensi pengetahuan IPA siswa yaitu dari nilai rata-rata siklus I sebesar 74,08 dengan ketuntasan belajar mencapai 64,10% menjadi 84,65 untuk nilai rata-rata pada siklus II dengan ketuntasan belajar mencapai 89,74%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model problem based learning dengan brainstorming untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan kompetensi pengetahuan IPA siswa kelas IVB SDN 2 Dangin Puri.Kata Kunci : problem based learning, brainstorming, kemampuan pemecahan masalah, kompetensi pengetahuan IPA
This research aimed: (1) to improve problem solving ability for the IVB grade students of SDN 2 Dangin Puri by implementing problem based learning with brainstorming; and (2) to improve the knowledge competence of science for IVB grade students of SDN 2 Dangin Puri by implementing problem based learning with brainstorming. The classroom action research performed in 2 cycles. The subject of the research are the students of grade IVB SDN 2 Dangin Puri totally 39 students consists of 24 male students and 15 female students. The data was collected by using essay test method in student’s problem solving aspect and multiple choice test in the aspect of the knowledge competence of science. The data analyzed by using descriptive analytical statistic and descriptive qualitative. The result of the research show that :(1) an increase of problem solving ability from the average of the study result is 73,89 with 61,54% of students that complete the value standard in first cycle becames 82,36 for the average with 87,18% of students complete the value standard in second cycle and (2) an increase of knowlegde competence of science from the average of the study result is 74,08 with 64,10% of students that complete the value standard in first cycle becames 84,65 for the average with 89,74% of students complete the value standard in second cycle. Based on the researched it can be concluded that the application of problem based learning with brainstorming to increase the problem solving ability and knowledge competence of science IVB grade students of SDN 2 Dangin Puri.
