PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN INKUIRI BERBASIS EKSPERIMEN UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH DAN KOMPETENSI PENGETAHUAN IPA

Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk: (1) meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah IPA siswa kelas IVA SDN 1 Padangsambian tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 melalui penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri berbasis eksperimen, dan (2) meningkatkan kompetensi pengetahuan IPA siswa kelas IVA SDN 1 Padangsambian tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 melalui penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri berbasis eksperimen. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IVA SDN 1 Padangsambian yang berjumlah 47 siswa yang terdiri dari 23 siswa laki-laki dan 24 siswa perempuan. Data tentang kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan kompetensi pengetahuan IPA dikumpulkan dengan metode tes. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: (1) terjadi peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah IPA siswa yaitu dari persentase rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah IPA siswa sebesar 71,44% yang tergolong sedang pada siklus I, menjadi 82,16% yang tergolong tinggi pada siklus II, dan (2) terjadi peningkatan kompetensi pengetahuan IPA siswa yaitu dari persentase rata-rata sebesar 73,30% yang tergolong sedang dengan ketuntasan belajar 65,96% pada siklus I, meningkat menjadi 83,18% yang tergolong kategori tinggi dengan ketuntasan belajar 89,36% pada siklus II. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri berbasis eksperimen dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan kompetensi pengetahuan IPA siswa kelas IVA SDN 1 Padangsambian tahun pelajaran 2015/2016.Kata Kunci : pembelajaran inkuiri berbasis eksperimen, kemampuan pemecahan masalah, kompetensi pengetahuan IPA
This classroom action research aimed to: (1) improve problem solving ability of science for the IVA grade students of SDN 1 Padangsambian in the academic year 2015/2016 after the application of inquiry learning model based on experiment, and (2) improve knowledge competencies of science for IVA grade students of SDN 1 Padangsambian in the academic year 2015/2016 after the application of inquiry learning model based on experiment. The research performed in 2 cycles. The subjects of this research were the IVA grade students of SDN 1 Padangsambian in total 47 persons consisting of 23 male students and 24 female students. Data on the problem solving ability and knowledge competencies of science were collected by the test method. The data were analyzed using statistic descriptive technique and descriptive quantitative. The result of the research show that :(1) an increase the presentage of the problem solving ability of science from the presentage 71,44% with medium categories in first cycle become 82,16% with high categories in second cycle and (2) an increase in the presentage of the knowledge kompetences of science from the presentage 73,30% with medium categories and mastery learning reach the percentage 65,96% in first cycle become 83,18% with high categories and mastery learning reach the percentage 89,36% in second cycle. Based on the research it can be concluded that the application of a inquiry learning model based on experiment can improve problem solving ability and knowledge competencies of science for IVA grade students of SDN 1 Padangsambian academic year 2015/2016.
