PENERAPAN PENDEKATAN SAINTIFIK BERBASIS MIND MAPPING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR DAN KOGNITIF IPS KELAS V

Abstract


Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar melalui penerapan pendekatan saintifik berbasis mind mapping dan (2) untuk meningkatkan penguasaan kompetensi kognitif IPS melalui penerapan pendekatan saintifik berbasis mind mapping. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SDN 1 Sumerta tahun ajaran 2015/2016 yang berjumlah 42 siswa dengan 22 siswa perempuan dan 20 siswa laki – laki. Data hasil motivasi belajar dan penguasaan kompetensi kognitif IPS dikumpul dengan menggunakan metode kuesioner dan tes objektif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata motivasi belajar pada siklus I sebesar 77,21%, sedangkan rata-rata motivasi belajar pada siklus II sebesar 81,14%. Sementara itu, hasil penelitian penguasaan kompetensi kognitif IPS pada pra siklus diperoleh persentase rata-rata sebesar 73,45% dengan ketuntasan belajar klasikal sebesar 42,86%. Setelah dilakukan perbaikan pembelajaran, pada siklus I diperoleh persentase 79,50% dengan ketuntasan belajar klasikal sebesar 64,28% dan pada siklus II sebesar 86,88% dikategorikan dengan ketuntasan belajar klasikal sebesar 90,48%.

The purposes of this study are (1) to increase the motivation to learn through the application of scientific approach based on mind mapping and ( 2 ) to improve the mastery of IPS cognitive competencies through the application of scientific approach based on mind mapping. This research was classroom action research conducted in two cycles. The subject of this study were students of class V of SDN 1 Sumerta in academic year 2015/2016 which consisted of 42 students with 22 female students and 20 male students. Data from the result of learning motivation and mastery of IPS cognitive competencies were collected by using questionnaires and objective tests. The results showed that the average motivation to learn in the first cycle was 77.67 %, while the average motivation to learn in the second cycle was 81.62 %. Meanwhile, the research results of mastery of IPS cognitive competencies on pre-cycle acquiredaverage percentage of 73.45 % with classical learning completeness of 42.86 %. After the improvement of learning, the first cycle obtained percentage of 78.79 % with classical learning completeness of 66.67 % and the second cycle was 86.88 % which was categorized with classical learning completeness of 90.48 %.
