PENDEKATAN SAINTIFIK BERBASIS CONTROVERSIAL ISSUES BERPENGARUH TERHADAP PENGUASAAN KOMPETENSI PENGETAHUAN IPS

Abstract


Tujuan Penelitian Ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan yang signifikan penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS antara kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan melalui pendekatan saintifik berbasis controversial issues dengan kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan melalui pembelajaran konvensional pada siswa kelas V SD Gugus Letkol Wisnu. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan eksperimen semu dengan menggunakan desain penelitian nonequivalentcontrol group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas V SD gugus Letkol Wisnu yang banyaknya 343 orang. Sampel ditentukan melalui random sampling dengan mengacak kelas. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas V SD Negeri 1 Peguyangan sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan kelas V SD Negeri 12 Peguyangan sebagai kelompok kontrol dengan jumlah masing-masing kelompok sebanyak 38 siswa pada kelompok ekperimen dan 42 orang siswa pada kelompok kontrol. Data Penguasaan kompetensi Pengetahuan IPS dikumpulkan dengan instrumen berupa tes objektif berjumlah 25 butir tes yang telah divalidasi. Data penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS dianalisis dengan t-test. Hasil analisis menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS antara kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan melalui pendekatan saintifik berbasis controversial issues dengan kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan melalui pembelajaran konvensional pada kelas V SD Gugus Letkol Wisnu. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan hasil thitung= 2,95 > ttabel (α = 0,05, 62) = 2,000. Demikian pula nilai Rerata penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS siswa kelompok eskperimen = 81,05 > = 74,48 rerata penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS siswa kelompok kontrol. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan penerapan pendekatan saintifik berbasis controversial issues berpengaruh terhadap penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS siswa kelas V SD Gugus Letkol Wisnu Denpasar Utara tahun ajaran 2015/2016.

The aim of this study was to find out the significant differences in the outcomes of learning social sciences between students who was studied by using the scientific approach is based on controversial issues with students who was studied by using the conventional learning in class V SD Gugus Letkol Wisnu. This type of research was a quasi-experimental research using non equivalent control group design. The samples were taken with a random sampling technique to randomize the class. The sample in this study is in class V of SD Negeri 1 Peguyangan as the experimental group, which is the total of this group of 38 person and in class V of SD Negeri 12 Peguyangan as a control group, which is the total of each group of 42 person. The data of social sciences learning outcomes were collected by instruments in the form of an essay test , which each test consist of 25 items in valid and reliable. The data of social sciences learning outcomes were analyzed by t – test that have been validated. The analysis stated that there were the significant differences in the outcomes of learning social sciences between students who was studied by using scientific approach based on controversial issues with students who was studied by using the conventional learning in class V SD Gugus Letkol Wisnu .This study was evidenced by the results ( thit = 2,95 > ttabel (α = 0,05, 62) = 2,000. Similarly, the average value obtained in experimental group learning outcomes ( 81.05 ) is greater than the control class ( 74.48 ). However, Based on the result above it can be concluded that the application of problem based learning the scientific approach is based on controversial issueshad an effect in learning social sciences outcomes in class V SD Gugus Letkol Wisnu north Denpasar district academic year 2015/2016.
