PENERAPAN PENDEKATAN SAINTIFIK SETING DISCOVERY LEARNING BERBANTUAN MEDIA AUDIO-VISUAL MENINGKATKAN KOMPETENSI PENGETAHUAN IPS DAN PENALARAN

Abstract

Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS dan penalaran siswa kelas V SDN 21 Dauh Puri melalui penerapan pendekatan saintifik seting discovery learning berbantuan media audio-visual. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, dengan subjek dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 32 siswa. Data penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan metode tes objektif dalam bentuk pilihan ganda biasa, sedangkan data kemampuan penalaran siswa dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan metode tes tertulis dalam bentuk tes uraian. Data yang telah terkumpul dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode analisis statistik deskriptif dan metode analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadinya peningkatan persentase rata-rata penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS pada pra siklus 63% dengan kategori rendah meningkat menjadi 67,37% dengan kategori sedang pada siklus I, dan meningkat lagi pada siklus II menjadi 80,31% dengan kategori tinggi. Ketuntasan klasikal pada penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS pada siklus I mencapai 43,75% meningkat menjadi 87,5% pada siklus II. Selain itu juga terjadi peningkatan pada persentase kemampuan penalaran siswa pada siklus I, yaitu 69,81% dengan kategori sedang meningkat menjadi 80,12% pada siklus II dengan kategori tinggi. Dari hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan saintifik seting discovery learning berbantuan media audio-visual dapat meningkatkan penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS dan penalaran siswa kelas V SDN 21 Dauh Puri.

This classroom action research aims to determine the increase competence mastery of knowledge IPS and reasoning fifth grade students of SDN 21 Dauh Puri through the application of a scientific approach to discovery learning setting aided audio - visual media. This study was conducted in two cycles, with the subjects in this study consisted of 32 students. Data collected IPS knowledge mastery of competencies using an objective test in the form of multiple-choice regular, while data collected students' reasoning skills using written tests in the form of a test description. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis and quantitative descriptive analysis method. The results showed that the increase in the average percentage of IPS knowledge mastery of competencies in pre-cycle 63 % with low category increased to 67.37 % with category in the first cycle, and increased again in the second cycle into 80.31 % with a high category. Classical completeness on the mastery of knowledge competency IPS in the first cycle reaches 43.75 % increase to 87.5 % in the second cycle. There was also an increase in the percentage of reasoning abilities of students in the first cycle, which is 69.81 % with category increased to 80.12 % in the second cycle with high category. From the results, it can be concluded that the application of a scientific approach to discovery learning setting aided audio - visual media can increase competence mastery of knowledge IPS and reasoning fifth grade students of SDN 21 Dauh Puri.
