*PENERAPAN MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PENGUASAAN KOMPETENSI PENGETAHUAN IPA SISWA KELAS VB

Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPA siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model problem based learning pada tema sejarah peradaban Indonesia. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi dan evaluasi, serta refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VB SD Negeri 3 Sesetan yang berjumlah 43 orang siswa yang terdiri dari 25 orang siswa laki-laki dan 18 orang siswa perempuan. Data tentang kompetensi pengetahuan siswa dikumpulkan dengan metode tes. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan metode analisis statistik deskriptif dan metode analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan persentase rata-rata penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPA siswa kelas VB sebesar 30,23% dari 46,51% pada siklus I menjadi 76,74% pada siklus II. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model problem based learning dapat meningkatkan penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPA siswa kelas VB SD Negeri 3 Sesetan.Kata Kunci : model problem based learning, penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPA
*The purpose of this classroom action research is to improve students’ cognitive competency of natural science which taught through problem based learning model on the theme of history of Indonesia civilization. This study was done in two cycles. Each of the cycle is consisted of planning, action, observation and evaluation, and reflection. The subject of this study is the students of class VB of SD Negeri 3 Sesetan in which amount of 43 students that consisted of 25 males and 18 females. The data of students’ cognitive competency was collected through a test method. Furthermore, the data was analyzed through descriptive statistics and descriptive quantitative analysis method. The results showed an increase in the average percentage of cognitive competency of students VB around 30.23% from 46.51% from the first cycle to 76.74% in the second cycle.Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the problem based learning model could improve students’ cognitive competency of students of VB class on natural science students of SD Negeri 3 Sesetan.
