PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN WORD SQUARE UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MENYIMAK CERITA PADA SISWA KELAS V

Abstract


Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menyimak cerita siswa setelah menerapkan model pembelajaran word square. Subjek penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas V di SDN 4 Banyuasri Kecamatan Buleleng tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 yang berjumlah 27 orang siswa. Data dikumpulkan dengan metode tes, dan selanjutnya dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian pada siklus I diperoleh rata-rata keterampilan menyimak siswa 89,01% (tergolong baik) dan meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 92,96% (tergolong sangat baik). Peningkatan yang terjadi sebesar 3,95%. Ketuntasan klasikal pada siklus I yaitu 74,07% belum mencapai kriteria yang ditetapkan yaitu 85%, sedangkan pada siklus II ketuntasan klasikal yang diperoleh yaitu 88,89% dan sudah mencapai kriteria yang ditetapkan yaitu 85% serta mengalami peningkatan sebesar 14,82%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran word square dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menyimak cerita siswa kelas V SDN 4 Banyuasri Kecamatan Buleleng.

This research is a classroom action research (CAR) which conducted in two cycles. This study aims to improve students listening story skill after appliyng word square learning model. The subject of this research were all of the fifth grade student at SDN 4 Banyuasri in district of Buleleng in the academic year of 2015/2016, which amount was 27 student. Data were collected by the test method, and then analyzed by quantitative descriptive analysis method. The result of this study in the first cycle was 89,01% (good category) in the average of students' listening skill and increased in the second cycle become 92,96% (very good category). The increases which have happend was 3,95%. The classical completeness in the first cycle was 74,07% have not reached the established criteria, namely 85%, whereas in the second cycle, the classical completeness was 88,89% and have reached the established criteria in 85% and have increased in 14,82%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the application of word square learning model can improve the students' learning story skill in the fifth grade of SDN 4 Banyuasri in the district of Buleleng.
