PENGARUH METODE PEMBELAJARAN BRAINSTORMING TERHADAP KEMAMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA MATA PELAJARAN IPA KELAS V SD

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan metode brainstorming terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas V SD Gugus IV Kelurahan Pendem Kecamatan Jembrana. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari satu kelas eksperimen dan satu kelas kontrol, dipilih dengan teknik Random Sampling. Desain penelitian yang digunakan non equivalent pos-test only control group. Data dikumpulkan dengan metode tes kemampuan berpikir kritis bebentuk tes uraian. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji t. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diperoleh: (1) kemampuan berpikir kritis IPA pada siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan metode brainstorming menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar skor cenderung baik dengan mean 36,07; (2) kemampuan berpikir kritis IPA pada siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar skor cenderung baik dengan mean 30,68; (3) berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis yang telah dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji-t diperoleh hasil yaitu terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan kemampuan berpikir kritis antara siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan metode brainstorming dengan siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional, diketahui thitung > ttabel (3,23 > 1,992). Dengan demikian, penerapan metode pembelajaran brainstorming berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas V SD Gugus IV Kelurahan Pendem Kecamatan Jembrana.Kata Kunci : brainstorming, pembelajaran konvensional, kemampuan berpikir kritis
This research aimed to knowing the application of brainstorming method to student’s critical thinking skills. The research is a quasi-experiment. The populations in this research were all the fifth grade elementary school students of group IV Pendem District of Jembrana. The research sample consisted of one experimental class and one class of control, chosen by random sampling technique. The research design used non equivalent post-test only control group. Data collected by the test of critical thinking skills. The data were processed using the t test. The analysis data showed: (1) the ability of critical thinking science with brainstorming method showed that the majority score is good with mean score of 36.07; (2) the ability of critical thinking science students that learned with conventional learning showed that the majority score is good with mean score of 30,68; (3) based on the results of hypothesis testing that has been done by using t-test showed that there are significant differences between student’s critical thinking skills that learned with the method of brainstorming with the students that learned conventional learning, thitung > ttabel (3,23 > 1,992). Thus, the application of brainstorming learning methods affected the ability of student’s critical thinking skills in fifth grade elementary school students of group IV Pendem District of Jembrana.
