Local Wisdom-Based Market Game to Improve Kindergarten Children's Language Skills

Improving early childhood language skills can be done by changing learning that was originally monotonous from books or magazines into games based on local wisdom. This study aims to develop market games based on Rembang local wisdom to improve children's language skills. This research method uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the Borg and Gall development model. The sample in this study amounted to 50 children. Data collection techniques using observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. While the data analysis technique uses quantitative descriptive analysis, prerequisite test and t test. The research results show that it is necessary to develop market games based on Rembang local wisdom to improve children's language skills. The development of market games based on Rembang local wisdom can improve children's language skills. The development of market games based on the local wisdom of Rembang based on the validation results of material experts and linguists is declared feasible to improve children's language skills. The development of market games based on Rembang local wisdom is effectively used to improve children's language skills with a t-count of 21,189 and a t-table of 4.381 (t-count is more than t-table) and an N-Gain value of 71 in the effective category. It can be concluded that market games based on the local wisdom of Rembang are declared feasible and effective for improving children's language skills and are relevant to the needs of children and teachers.
