Iklim Sekolah Positif dan Kondusif Berbasis Penguatan Nilai Cinta Kasih

Masih banyak sekolah yang belum menaruh perhatian serius terhadap pentingnya menciptakan atau meningkatkan iklim sekolah yang positif dan kondusif. Hal ini mengakibatkan munculnya suasana lingkungan sekolah dan kelas yang tidak efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan suasana iklim sekolah yang positif dan kondusif yang diciptakan berbasis penguatan nilai cinta kasih pada suatu sekolah bernuansa Katolik. Penggambaran didasarkan pada empat dimensi iklim sekolah, yaitu keterlibatan, pemberdayaan dan otonomi, inklusivitas, dan ekuitas serta lingkungan sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain etnografi berjenis etnografi realis dengan subjek penelitian yakni 40 orang yang terdiri dari kepala sekolah, guru, siswa, dan orangtua yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipan, wawancara, dan studi dokumen dengan istrumen penelitian berupa lembar observasi dan wawancara. Analisis data dilakukan dengan mengikuti enam langkah analisis data Creswell. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gambaran iklim sekolah positif dan kondusif berbasis penguatan nilai cinta kasih, antara lain suasana partisipasi anggota sekolah tinggi; terdapat pemberdayaan dan pemberian otonomi kepada anggota; terdapat iklim inklusivitas dan ekuitas yang terwujud dalam sikap toleransi dan perlakuan setara; serta suasana lingkungan sekolah yang aman, nyaman, humanis, terbuka, peduli, penuh kekeluargaan dan mendukung bagi pengembangan siswa. Suasana iklim demikian sangat diperlukan bagi peningkatan efektivitas, mutu, dan optimalisasi peran warga sekolah. Implikasi temuan ini mendorong sekolah-sekolah untuk meningkatkan kualitas iklim sekolah melalui penguatan penghayatan nilai-nilai positif budaya sekolah.
