An analysis of jargon used by waiters and waitresses in food and beverage at Krisna Beach Street Singaraja.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan menggambarkan jenis jargon, makna dan fungsi jargon yang digunakan oleh para pelayan dan pramusaji di Jalan Pantai Krisna Singaraja. Dalam menganalisa jargon, teori ini didukung oleh teori Allan & Burridge (2006), Chaer & Agustina (2010) dan Yule (2006). Analisis ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah pelayan laki-laki dan pelayan wanita di departemen makanan dan minuman di Krisna Beach Street Singaraja. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah observasi, dokumentasi dan wawancara. Ditemukan jenis jargon yang digunakan oleh pelayan dan pramusaji, seperti singkatan 6 (26%), pinjaman 5 (21%) dan kata 17 (73%). Ditemukan bahwa artinya 28 jargon digunakan oleh para pelayan dan pramusaji di Krisna Beach Street. Dalam fungsi jargon, teori ini didukung oleh teori Allan & Burridge (2006) dan Ivess (1999) menemukan dua jargon fungsi yang digunakan oleh pelayan dan pelayan, (1) jargon sebagai bahasa yang efisien dan efektif dalam komunikasi dan (2) Jargon sebagai Identifikasi kelompokKata Kunci : jargon, food and beverage department , waiters and waitresses dan Krisna Beach Street
This study aimed at analyzing and describing the types of jargon, meaning and function of jargon used by the waiters and waitresses in Krisna Beach Street Singaraja. In analyzing jargon, it was supported by theories from Allan & Burridge (2006), Chaer & Agustina ( 2010) and Yule (2006). This analysis used qualitative method. The subjects of this study were waiters and waitresses of the food and beverage department at Krisna Beach Street Singaraja. The technique of data collection was observation, documentation and interview. It was found types of jargon used by waiters and waitresses, such as abbreviation 6 (26 %) , borrowing 5 (21 %) and word 17 (73 % ). It was found that meaning 28 jargons used by the waiters and waitresses in Krisna Beach Street. In function of jargon, it was supported by theories from Allan & Burridge ( 2006) and Ivess( 1999) it found two functions jargons used by waiters and waitresses, (1) jargon as efficient and effective language in communication and ( 2) Jargon as group identification.
