THE EFFECT OF ICT-BASED INTERACTIVE GAME ON FOURTH-GRADE STUDENTS' ENGLISH ACHIEVEMENT

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ICT-based interactive game memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan pada prestasi belajar Bahasa Inggris siswa kelas empat di gugus IV kecamatan Sukasada. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian semu yang menggunakan post-test only control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 174 siswa dari delapan sekolah dasar di gugus IV kecamatan Sukasada. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 23 siswa dari SDN 3 Sukasada dan 23 siswa dari SDN 4 Sukasada yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Data dianalisis secara kuantitatif dengan menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil dari uji hipotesis (independent t-test) menunjukkan bahwa to=2,838>tcv = 2,015 dan nilai signifikasi dari data adalah 0,007 lebih rendah dari α = 0,05. Dapat dibuktikan bahwa ICT-based interactive game memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan pada prestasi belajar Bahasa Inggris siswa kelas empat. Kesimpulannya, ICT-based interactive game merupakan media pembelajaran yang efektif.Kata Kunci : prestasi siswa, ICT-based interactive game, pelajar usia dini
The aim of this study was to justify whether ICT-based interactive game gave the significant effect on fourth grade students’ English achievement in cluster four in Sukasada district. It was a quasi-experimental research which used post-test only control group design. The population of this study was 174 students from eight elementary schools in cluster four in Sukasada district. The samples of this study were 23 students from SDN 3 Sukasada and 23 students from SDN 4 Sukasada which were selected by using cluster random sampling technique. The data were analyzed quantitatively by using descriptive and inferential statistics analysis. The result of hypothesis testing (independent t-test) shows that to=2.838>tcv = 2.015 and the significance value of the data was 0.007 lower than α = 0.05. It can be proved that ICT-based interactive game gives a significant effect towards students’ English achievement. In conclusion, ICT-based interactive game is an effective teaching media.
