LANGUAGE USE: AN ANALYSIS OF ASSERTIVE ACTS USED BY THE ELEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS OF SMA NEGERI 3 SINGARAJA

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisa jenis-jenis tindak tutur asertif dan gaya ujaran yang digunakan oleh siswa kelas sebelas di SMA Negeri 3 Singaraja. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 30 siswa, yang terdiri dari 13 perempuan dan 17 laki-laki. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif, data penelitian ini diperoleh melalui metode elisitasi data, merekam dan wawancara. Data yang terkumpulkan selanjutnya ditranskripsi dan digolongkan berdasarkan 6 kategori tindak tutur asertif menurut Searle. Hasil analisa menunjukkan bahwa tindak tutur asertif siswa dapat dihadirkan secara berurutan, sebagai berikut: menyatakan (38.0%), mengeluh (27.12%), menyarankan (16.60%), melaporkan (11.64%), menuntut (3.70%), lalu diikuti oleh membual (3.01%) dari 730 ujaran. Masing-masing tindak tutur aserif didapati menggunakan lebih dari satu pola kalimat yang berbeda-beda, contohnya, ada 21 jenis pola yang digunakan dalam tindak tutur asertif menyatakan. Analisa gaya ujaran menunjukkan bahwa gaya ujaran yang paling sering digunakan siswa adalah tidak resmi yang digunakan dalam tindak tutur menyatakan (36.98%), sementara gaya ujaran yang paling sedikit digunakan adalah resmi yang digunakan dalam tindak tutur menyarankan (0.13%).Kata Kunci : deskriptif kualitatif, tindak tutur asertif, gaya ujaran
The intention of this research was to analyze the types of assertive acts and the speech styles used by the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 3 Singaraja. The subjects of this study were 30 students, consisting of 13 females and 17 males. This research was a qualitative research, in which the data of the research were obtained through data elicitation, recording and interview. The data gathered were then transcribed and classified based on the 6 categories of assertive acts according to Searle. The results of the analysis showed that the assertive acts used by the students can sequentially be presented, as follows: to state (38.00%), to complain (27.12%), to suggest (16.60%), to report (11.64%), to claim (3.70%), then followed by to boast (3.01%) out of 730 speeches. Each of the assertive acts was realized by using more than one different sentence patterns, for instance, 21 kinds of patterns were used in to state. The analysis of speech styles showed that the most style frequently used by the students was informal that was used in to state (36.98%), meanwhile the less style was formal that was used in to suggest (0.13%).
