An Investigation on Teachers' E-learning Readiness toward E-learning Implementation in Public Senior High Schools in Singaraja, Bali, Indonesia

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi kesiapan E-learning guru terhadap implementasi E-learning dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris di empat sekolah negeri di Singaraja, Bali, Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan explanatory sequential design. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah 21 Guru di SMA N 1 Singaraja, SMA N 2 Singaraja, SMA N 3 Singaraja, and SMA N 4 Singaraja. Jumlah sampel dalam peneltitian adalah 20 guru Bahasa Inggri. Pengumpulan data kuantitatif dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner E-learning (ERQ) dan wawancara. Kuesioner tersebut diadaptasi oleh teori kesiapan E-learning dari Akaslan dan Law, data yang diperoleh dialalisis menggunakan SPSS 24.0, dan hasilnya diinterpretasikan dengan menggunakan metode penilaian kesiapan E-learning dari Aydin dan Tasci. Hasil kuesioner menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata kesiapan guru Bahasa Inggris secara keseluruhan adalah 3.99 dari 5.00. Sedangkan, level terendah kesiapan yang diharapkan adalah 3.40. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa guru Bahasa Inggris sudah siap terhadap pengaplikasian E-leaning, namun membutuhkan beberapa penyempurnaan. Dilihat dari hasil sub-komponen kesiapan E-learning guru, skor rata-rata tertinggi yaitu mengenai pengalaman guru terhadap penggunaan teknologi, yakni sebesar 4.50. sedangkan skor rata-rata terendah guru adalah persepsi mereka terhadap kemudahan penggunaan smartphone, yakni sebesar 3.30. Kemudian, wawancara tersebut digunakan untuk mendukung data yang telah diperoleh dari kuesioner.Kata Kunci : E-learning, kesiapan E-learning, kesiapan guru
This research aimed to investigate the teachers’ E-learning readiness toward the implementation of E-learning in English subject in public senior high schools. To achieve the air, the researcher used explanatory sequential design. The population were 21 teachers of SMA N 1 Singaraja, SMA N 2 Singaraja, SMA N 3 Singaraja, and SMA N 4 Singaraja. 20 English teachers were selected as the sample to gain quantitative data of this research. The data collection was gained quantitatively through E-learning readiness questionnaire (ERQ) and qualitatively through interview. The questionnaire was adapted from the E-learning readiness theory proposed by Akaslan and Law, the data gained was analyzed by using SPSS 24.0, and the result of the data analysis was interpreted by using E-learning readiness assessment model by Aydin and Tasci. The result of the questionnaire shows that the grand mean score of the English teachers’ readiness is 3.99 out of 5.00. Whereas, the expected level of readiness (Mo) is 3.40. It implies that the English teachers are ready, but need few improvements in the E-learning implementation. Seen from the sub-components of the teachers’ E-learning readiness, the highest mean score of the teachers is about the experience toward the use of technology (4.50). Meanwhile, the lowest mean score of the teachers is on the perceived ease of use of the smartphone (3.30). Then, the interview was used to support the result of ERQ.
