AN ANALYSIS OF SWEAR WORD USED BY BALI AGA PEOPLE IN SIDETAPA VILLAGE

Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kata-kata umpatan yang digunakan oleh orang-orang di desa Sidatapa. Untuk mencapai tujuan ini, penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif, yang dilakukan dengan mengamati, mewawancarai subjek, dan rekaman audio. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 10 orang yang berasal dari desa Sidatapa. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa kata-kata umpatan yang digunakan oleh orang-orang di desa Sidapa memiliki bentuk, referensi, dan fungsinya. Ada tiga bentuk kata-kata umpatan: (1) dalam bentuk kata-kata, yang dibagi menjadi dua: monomorphemic (sigug 'nakal', bancih 'waria', kables 'berhubungan seks', dll) dan polimorfik (bebereke 'putrid', nusuk 'aduk', ngamah 'makan', dll.), (2) dalam bentuk frasa (belog-beloge 'sangat bodoh', sedeng gati 'sangat gila', lengeh buah 'sangat bodoh', dll), dan (3) dalam bentuk klausa (buduh mene 'kamu bodoh', lengeh mene, 'kamu bodoh', ngamah gro gaen mene 'kamu selalu makan', dll). Referensi dari kata-kata umpatan itu terkait dengan: (a) aktivitas, (b) istilah hewan, (c) fungsi tubuh, (d) kotoran, (e) iblis, (f) kekerabatan, (g) penyakit mental, (h) penyakit mental, ) latar belakang pribadi dan (i) agama. Fungsi kata-kata umpatan adalah: (a) agresif, (b) integratif, (c) untuk membuat identifikasi antarpribadi, (d) untuk memberikan katarsis, (e) penekanan, (f) untuk memprovokasi, (g) untuk menarik perhatian, dan (h) regresif. Dalam hal ini, penggunaan kata makian di desa Sidatapa tidak hanya dalam bentuk makna negatif tetapi juga positif seperti, untuk mengurangi rasa sakit mereka dan juga kesusahan.Kata Kunci : bentuk, fungsi, kata umpatan
The main objective of this study is to analyze the swear words used by people in Sidatapa village. To achieve this goal, this study used descriptive qualitative research, which was conducting by observing, interviewing the subjects, and audio recording. The subject of this study were 10 people originally from Sidatapa village. The results of this study found that swear words used by the people in Sidapa village have their forms, references, and functions. There are three forms of swear words: (1) in the form of words, which divided into two: monomorphemic (sigug ‘mischievous’, bancih ‘transvestite’, kables ‘having intercourse’, etc) and polymorphemic (bebereke ‘putrid’, nusuk ‘poke’, ngamah ‘eat’, etc.), (2) in the form of phrases (belog-beloge ‘very stupid’, sedeng gati ‘very crazy’, lengeh buah ‘very stupid’, etc.), and (3) in the form of clauses (buduh mene ‘you are stupid’ , lengeh mene , ‘you are stupid’, ngamah gro gaen mene ‘you always eat’, etc.). The references of the swear words were related to: (a) activity, (b) animal terms, (c) body function, (d) excrement, (e) devils, (f) kinship, (g) mental illness, (h) personal background and (i) religion. The functions of swear words were: (a) aggressive, (b) integrative, (c) to create interpersonal identification, (d) to provide catharsis, (e) emphasis, (f) to provoke, (g) to draw attention, and (h) regressive. In this case, the used of swear word in Sidatapa village was not only in the form of negative meaning but also positive such as, for reducing their pain and also distress.
