CODE-SWITCHING: AN ANALYSIS OF BROADCASTER'S SPEECH IN PHOENIX RADIO BALI

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mencari tahu pergantian pola bahasa yang dihasilkan oleh ungkapan penyiar radio di Phoenix Radio. Penilitian lebih mencari persentasi perubahan pola, jenis perubahan pola dan alasan penyiar melakukannya. Data dijelaskan dengan menggunakan cara penjelasan qualitative. Penelitian menggunakan rekaman, wawancara dan observasi untuk memecahkan masalah yang ada. Penelitian di analisis dengan menyalin data, mengkodekan,mengkelompokan dan menghitung data yang di dapat dan di masukan ke dalam table. Peneliti menemukan 0.42% (1) adalah pola pergantian menambahkan diposisi terendah. Yang paling banyak adalah pola pergantian kata 81.78% (193) dan pola perubahan kalimat 17.80% (42) dari 236 pola perubahan dari 946 kalimat. Ada beberapa alasan yang telah di hasilkan sesuai dengan Holmes seperti ciri-ciri istimewa dan topic. Ciri-ciri istimewa dibagi menjadi spesifikasi lawan bicara, tanda pengenal, sopan santun dan status sosial. Pola pergantian bahasa bisa membantu orang untuk belajar bahasa lain melalui memahaminya dalam bentuk konteks kata lalu kalimat.Kata Kunci : Pola pergantian bahasa, ciri-ciri keistimewaan, topik
The study aimed to find out switching that produced broadcaster’s speech in Phoenix Radio. The study was focus to find out the percentage of the switching, the types of code switching produced and the reasons underlying the switching. The data explained in the descriptive qualitative research. This study used recording, interviewing and observing to solve the problem. The study was analyzed by transcribing the data, codifying, classifying and calculating the data and inserting to the table. The research was found that the broadcasters were produced 0.42% (1) was tag switching as the less dominant switching. The most dominant was from the intrasentential switching that was 81.78% (193) and intersentential switching was 17.80% (42) from the 236 switching in 946 utterances. There are some reasons that underlying the switching was produced accordance to Holmes such as participant’s features and topic. The participant features involved addressee specification, ethnic identity marker, express solidarity and assert social status. Code switching can help people to learn others language through mastering in the form of word context and then utterance.
