This study aimed to find the impact of using scripted songs as an audio media toward English competence of fifth grade students. This study is an experimental study which use Posttest-Only Control Group Design as the research design. The samples of this study were 5A class and 5B class of SD Negeri 3 Sukasada chosen through simple random sampling. Through lottery, 5A class chosen become the experimental group and 5B class became the control group. For the experimental group was treated by using Scripted Songs as an audio media. In other hand, the control group was treated by using Conventional Teaching media. By the end of the treatments, the same posttest was administered to check the students’ English competence. The result of the posttest shows that the students in experimental group got better achievement rather than the students in control group. It was proven by the mean score of experimental group was 84.86 while the mean score of control group was 74.73. Moreover, the result of t-test analysis shows that the t-observed (tobv) was 4.636 at degree of freedom 42. It was higher than the t-critical (tcv) value that was 2.0181 at level significance 0.05. It indicated that the null hypothesis (Ho) in this study was rejected while the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. As the conclusion, the use of Scripted Songs as audio media gave significant impact toward the students’ English competence.
