THE JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL ENGLISH TEACHERS’ PEDAGOGICAL COMPETENCE AT DAWAN DISTRICT, KLUNGKUNG REGENCY

Penelitian evaluasi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kompetensi pedagogik guru - guru bahasa inggris didalam merencanakan, melaksanakan pembelajaran dan mengevaluasi hasil pembelajaran. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah guru – guru bahasa inggris di SMP N 1 Dawan dan SMP N 3 Dawan. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan lima instrumen, yaitu perekam, rubrik penilaian, penilai, kuesioner,dan pedoman wawancara. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan menggunakan rubrik penilaian diisi oleh penilai. Data disajikan secara deskriptif. Hasil data analisis menunjukan bahwa kompetensi dua guru bahasa inggris didalam merencanakan pembelajaran dikategorikan sangat baik dan tiga guru dikategorikan baik. Dua guru perlu belajar bagaimana cara mendesain penilaian pembelajaran yang dimana dalam teknik, prosedur, instrumen, masih belum jelas. Akan tetapi, di dalam melakasanakan pembelajaran, dua guru dikategorikan sangat baik, satu guru dikategorikan baik dan dua guru dikategorikan sedang. Dua guru masih memiliki masalah, mereka merasa sulit untuk memilih pendekatan/ strategi yang sesuai dan memiliki sedikit pengetahuan tentang pemanfaatan sumber dan media pembelajaran. Mereka perlu melakukan refleksi disetiap akhir pembelajaran untuk mengetahui kesalahan mereka dan mereka akan memperbaiki dipertemuan selanjutnya. Sedangkan, di dalam mengevaluasi hasil pembelajaran, dua guru dikategorikan sangat baik dan tiga guru dikategorikan baik.Kata Kunci : Mengevaluasi hasil pembelajaran, Merencanakan pembelajaran, melakasanakan pembelajaran, Kompetensi pedagogik.
This evaluative study aimed to analyze English teachers’ pedagogical competence in terms of planning, implementing the lesson and evaluating the learning outcomes. The subjects of this study were English teachers at SMP N 1 Dawan and SMP N 3 Dawan. The data were collected by using five instruments, namely recorder, evaluation rubric, evaluator, questionnaires and interview guide. The data gathered were analyzed by using evaluation rubric that was filled by the evaluator. The data were presented descriptively. The results of data analysis showed that the competence in planning the lesson, two teachers are categorized as very good, and three teachers are categorized as good. Two teachers need to learn how to design learning evaluation in since the technique, procedure and instrument are not clear. However, in terms of implementing the lesson, two teachers are categorized as very good, one teacher is categorized as good and two other teachers are categorized as average. Two teachers still have problems, they feel difficult to choose appropriate approach /learning strategies and have little knowledge about utilization of resource / instructional media. They need to conduct reflection in every end of the lesson to know their mistakes and they will improve it for next meeting. Meanwhile, in term of evaluating the learning outcomes, two teachers are categorized as very good and three teachers are categorized as good.
