INTEGRASI PELAYANAN KESEHATAN MATERNAL DAN PENITENSIER UNTUK NARAPIDANA HAMIL DI LEMBAGA PEMASYARAKATAN PEREMPUAN KELAS IIA JAKARTA
Abstract
Pregnant inmates in prison settings face complex health challenges due to conditions of detention and pregnancy. This study aims to analyze the integration of maternal and penitentiary health services for pregnant inmates at the Women's Correctional Institution Class IIA Jakarta. The research method involved a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews with pregnant inmates, medical officers, and penitentiary officers. The results highlighted the need for close collaboration between penitentiary health facilities and maternal health services to ensure holistic and continuous care. This integration includes managing pregnancy risks in the prison setting, providing comprehensive information to pregnant inmates, and providing assistance during labor and postpartum. It was found that an integrated approach can improve the accessibility, quality, and effectiveness of health services for pregnant prisoners, while contributing to the well-being of mothers and babies born in prison. Although logistical and social challenges remain, the integration of maternal and penitentiary health services at the Jakarta Class IIA Women's Correctional Institution provides a foundation for improved policy and practice in dealing with this unique health issue.
