PENERAPAN METODE BERMAIN BERBANTUAN MEDIA MAGNET UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN KOGNITIF ANAK DI TK SANTA MARIA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan kognitif dalam pengetahuan sains anak kelompok B semester II tahun pelajaran 2013/2014 di TK Santa Maria Singaraja, Kecamatan Buleleng, Kabupaten Buleleng setelah penerapan metode bermain berbantuan media magnet. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu rencana tindakan, pelaksanaan, observasi/evaluasi dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah anak kelompok B semester II tahun pelajaran 2013/2014 di TK Santa Maria Singaraja yang berjumlah 15 orang anak. Data mengenai kemampuan kognitif dalam pengetahuan sains anak dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan metode observasi. Data yang telah diperoleh kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode analisis statistik deskriptif dan metode analisis statistik kuantitatif. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan rata-rata persentase kemampuan kognitif dalam pengetahuan sains anak setelah penerapan metode bermain berbantuan media magnet. Pada siklus I rata-rata persentase kemampuan kognitif dalam pengetahuan sains anak sebesar 71,25% yang berada pada kriteria sedang dan pada siklus II sebesar 86,25% yang berada pada kriteria tinggi. Jadi peningkatan kemampuan kognitif dalam pengetahuan sains anak dari siklus I ke siklus II sebesar 15,00%.Kata Kunci : metode bermain, magnet, kemampuan kognitif
This study aims at investigating the improvement of cognitive competence of second semester students of b group in TK Santa Maria Singaraja in the academic year of 2013/2014 Buleleng District, Buleleng Regency related to their knowledge about science after being applied the playing method combined with media magnet. This study was designed in the form of classroom action research (CAR) which was done in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four steps, namely: planning, action, observation/evaluation and reflection. To conduct this study, 15 students of second semester of b group in TK Santa Maria Singaraja in the academic year of 2013/2014 were selected as the subject. The data about cognitive competence related to their knowledge about science was gathered by using observation method. The data which had been collected was analyzed by using descriptive statistics and quantitative statistic analysis method. The result of data analysis showed that the there was an improvement of the percentage toward students’ cognitive competence after being applied the playing method combined with media magnet. In the first cycle, the average of the percentage of students’ cognitive competence was 71,25% in which it was still in moderate criteria and in the second cycle was 86,25% in which it was in high criteria. Therefore, the improvement of students’ cognitive competence related to their knowledge about science from the first cycle to the second cycle was 15,00%.
