This research focuses on specific challenges and practices related to the care of elderly inmates in the prison system. This study uses a mixed methods approach, which combines qualitative and quantitative research methods. Qualitative data were collected through in-depth interviews with correctional officers, elderly prisoners, and stakeholders involved in the care and rehabilitation of elderly prisoners. Quantitative data were obtained through surveys and analysis of official records and statistics. This research underlines that the successful implementation of care for elderly prisoners is not only in line with legal obligations but also reflects the ethical responsibilities of correctional institutions and society at large. This study calls for the rights and welfare of elderly inmates to be prioritized in the correctional system and underscores the importance of continuing efforts to ensure the rights and welfare of elderly inmates in correctional facilities are prioritized. care and protection. By providing appropriate care for elderly prisoners, prisons can demonstrate their commitment to upholding human rights standards and promoting a more compassionate and inclusive justice system.
