Bisma The Journal of Counseling is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. The journal adheres to the Core Practices outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure the integrity, credibility, and transparency of the scholarly publishing process.

  1. Allegations of Misconduct
    Bisma takes all allegations of misconduct seriously and has a well-defined process for handling them. The journal is committed to investigating and addressing allegations promptly and appropriately, including those from whistleblowers.

  2. Authorship and Contributorship
    The journal requires clear policies on authorship and contributorship, ensuring transparency regarding who contributed to the work and in what capacity. Potential authorship disputes are managed fairly and promptly.

  3. Complaints and Appeals
    Bisma provides a clear process for handling complaints against the journal, its staff, editorial board, or publisher. All complaints are treated seriously, and efforts are made to resolve them in a fair and impartial manner.

  4. Conflicts of Interest / Competing Interests
    The journal defines conflicts of interest clearly and has established processes for managing them among authors, reviewers, editors, and publishers. All conflicts of interest must be disclosed and managed appropriately.

  5. Data and Reproducibility
    Bisma encourages data availability and the use of reporting guidelines, as well as the registration of clinical trials and other study designs. The journal promotes transparency and reproducibility in research practices.

  6. Ethical Oversight
    The journal maintains ethical oversight by implementing policies on consent for publication, research involving vulnerable populations, ethical conduct of research with animals and human subjects, and handling confidential data.

  7. Intellectual Property
    Bisma has clear policies on intellectual property, copyright, and publishing licenses. Authors are informed about prepublication policies and what constitutes plagiarism and redundant/overlapping publication.

  8. Journal Management
    The journal ensures a structured infrastructure with transparent policies, Article Processing Charges (APC), and open-access publication. Plagiarism checks are conducted using Turnitin, and proofreading is done with Grammarly. Authors are encouraged to use reference management tools like Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero. The website is secured with HTTPS and an SSL certificate.

  9. Peer Review Processes
    Bisma implements a double-blind peer-review process, keeping the identities of authors and reviewers anonymous. A minimum of two reviewers will be assigned to ensure thorough and unbiased evaluations.

  10. Post-Publication Discussions and Corrections
    The journal allows for post-publication discussions through letters to the editor and moderated platforms. Mechanisms are in place for correcting, revising, or retracting articles post-publication as necessary.

  11. Archiving Policy
    Bisma maintains an archiving policy to preserve published articles in reputable digital archives, ensuring long-term accessibility. The journal collaborates with services like PKP PN Archiving Service and Portico for archiving purposes.

  12. Open Access Policy
    Bisma follows an open access policy, allowing free and unrestricted access to its published articles. The journal applies the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0), ensuring authors' rights while allowing for the sharing and adaptation of content under the same license.
